A testimony from a satisfied family member, written to Jim Tetzlaff (owner of Lake Terrace) on August 23, 2010: Dear Jim, My mother has been a resident at Lake Terrace East for 10 months now. Other than a respiratory bug that she’s been dealing with this week, she’s healthier more than when she arrived. At 92 years of age, mom can walk with assistance, eats good food, enjoys TV, and participates in her afternoon game club every day. The facility beautician washes and sets her hair each Wednesday just like she wants it. The staff is especially attentive and caring to her. They are able to get her to understand and cooperate, even when she’s a bit “cantankerous”. By the time they are finished helping her, she’s smiling and laughing again. For three days last week, my mother worried she had misplaced her rings. I decided to bring them to her last Friday to put her mind at ease. When I tried to remove the rings from her finger, I couldn’t get them off. I planned to try again on Saturday, but when I arrived, her engagement ring was gone. I told the staff the ring was missing and they told me that they would be on the lookout for it. Today, the nurse called at 9:00 a.m. to tell me she had my mother’s ring. What a relief! The nurse has also called me to keep me updated on health concerns. I know my mother would not have received this individualized attention at a large nursing home. She has received the best care and quality to her life I could have hoped for at this stage in her life. My quality of life is improved, too, because I’m able to sleep at night! Thanks for all you do to keep Lake Terrace East running each day! Sincerely, Nancy |
