September 18, 2000 Dear Jim: Here is a copy of the letter I sent to the bureau for your records. I hope and believe you know that our family as a whole think the world of you and the outstanding care you provide to our mom. You truly are a unique individual in today’s world – YOU CARE- and it’s not just money, you have always put in your people number one and we are grateful we found you and Lake Terrace. Thanks Tom P. To whom it may concern: I wanted to take the time to express my appreciation and gratitude to the owners and staff of Lake Terrace community-based residential facility located on south 68th Street in Franklin Wisconsin. My mother has been a resident of the facility going into her third year. She suffers from dementia and had been at another facility which I won’t mention (I was told if you don’t have anything good to say about someone or something, don’t say anything). Her stay at the original place was cut short when it was obvious, other than it being a nice new building, everything was terrible. Well a decision was made by my brother, sister, and myself to relocate Mom to Lake Terrace. I know right from the start that it seemed like we had made a good move, but I tend to be one that takes a little longer to convince. Well I am sincerely convinced that this is the finest facility of this kind. Let me review what I base this conclusion on. First the owner is a gentleman by the name of Jim Tetzlaff, and believe me when I say that word fits him to a “T.” He truly is a gentle man always concerned for his patients as if they were part of his own family. He is a hands-on owner that has always been there for us. My mom is not one of the easiest people to handle, but Jim has done what ever it takes to make her happy and comfortable, and it shows every time I visit. The entire staff is truly wonderful, caring people and is more than a job for many of them, even a way of life. The stay there has not been without a couple problems, but what has impressed our family is how Jim listens when there are concerns or issues and then takes action to rectify or improve the situation or problem. We have begun to look upon Judy, Stacy, Management, and all the rest of the employees as part of our family for the way they treat my mom. I am a district manager for a retail operation, and I know often times all you hear is negative feedback, but when someone takes the time to relay some positives, it just is such a good feeling. I hope this can be directed to the people who can help make sure there will be more “Lake Terraces” with owners like Jim Tetzlaff available for all those suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Sincerely, Tom P. |
